Munich International Ski Club & Flat Sucks GmbH would like to invite you to participate in the Avalanche Course we are organizing during the weekend of 21st-23rd November at Stubaier Gletscher.

We completed exactly the same training 2 years ago and loved it! We learnt a lot, had fun, and we now know how to be safe off-piste! Consider joining if you enjoy freeride skiing, and bring the friends you ski with so they know how to save you!

Therefore would encourage you to join us in the Safety Days group training (in English or German, depending on the group preferences, in groups of max. 7 participants per guide):
- Two evenings of lectures and theory units: One on Friday, November 21st, at 5 pm and another one on Saturday evening
- Two days of training with certified mountain and ski guides in the Stubaier Gletscher area
Included in the price:
- Avalanche course
- Accommodation in single or double rooms with breakfast and dinner
Not included:
- Ski Pass for 2 days (not needed though if you are a Snow Card Tirol holder)
- Transport is private but we will help organize car sharing. Transport costs are calculated at 40 cents per km, which comes to 160 Euros to be shared among all occupants including driver if travelling from Munich - this is to cover all costs (fuel, road tolls, infringement tickets, operating costs, damage, insurance, depreciation, etc).
Payment terms: Places are only considered reserved once payment has been received in full. Specify at the time of booking your preferences of with whom you want to share a room - eg with the name of your partner, or gender preference, or whatever - and we will do our best but it's not guaranteed. If the trip takes place but you cannot attend for any reason we will do our best to find someone to take your place, and refund anything the club did not have to pay on your behalf minus a 30 Euro cancellation fee (for club members only, one cancelation without cancelation fee per season); beyond that you need to get your own travel insurance. Of course, if the trip cannot or does not take place you will be promptly refunded 100%.
Emergency phone number: A WhatsApp group will be created for the weekend, which you can voluntarily join for communicating with others in the group.
If you have any questions, contact Agata at specialevents@munichskiclub.com after checking the FAQ below:
1) Should I bring my own avalanche equipment (transceiver, probe, and shovel)?
If you have your own equipment, please bring it. If not, you can rent it for the training.
2) Do I need to be able to ski or snowboard?
Yes, you should be a confident skier or snowboarder. You don’t need to be a powder expert, but this training isn’t suitable for complete beginners or anyone who has never skied or snowboarded before.
